According to initial reports, at least three people died in the US due to Hurricane Helene. The hurricane hit the west coast of the US state of Florida overnight as the second-highest Category 4 hurricane, the national hurricane center announced. Authorities later downgraded the storm to Category 1 – with sustained winds of up to 145 kilometers per hour.
