Air boilers can only work at their best for a long time if they are kept clean.

Abandoning the traditional scrubbing method by using certain cleaning agents in the basket of the air cooker is a boon, especially for those looking for easier options.

On the popular Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, Yvonne De Burgo inquired: “Any tips on how to clean the fixed metal basket on my Ninja air cooker which also roasts, bakes and dehydrates?

“Don’t suggest regular elbow grease because I’m elderly and disabled so elbow grease is gone.”

Mrs Hinch’s fans recommended swapping out the old-school scrubbing for Elbow Grease All-Purpose Degreaser spray to get the job done.

Sarah Wicks recalled: “When I came to the UK I thought elbow grease was just harder work, but now I’ve discovered that Elbow Grease is a product and it’s amazing for the job.”

Patricia Skelton shared her experience: “At first we had a hard time getting the grease off the walls of our air fryer. We bought Elbow Grease and then it just melted away so I don’t have to scrub anymore.”

Brenda Close advised: “I buy a bottle of Elbow Grease from Poundland as it’s great for cleaning stubborn food from anything and everything.”

Craig Williams praised the product, saying, “Elbow Grease is amazing for getting grease off stuff and it’s cheap as chips.

“I have always noticed that there was a film of grease in the basket of the air cooker after washing. Now I use that product and there is no film left. An absolute godsend.”

Carrie Rapson shares a photo of the Elbow Grease spray: “Spray, leave on for five minutes, then wipe off.”

Other Mrs Hinch fans reported that they prefer to use hot water and dish soap to clean their air fryers.

Shirley Sutcliffe suggested: “Soak in boiling water with dishwashing liquid and use a sink brush to scrub while the water is still hot – it didn’t take much effort, I just did.”

Carol Jones said: “I do mine after every use so it’s easy to clean. Just hot water, dishwashing liquid and dishwasher.”

Trish Clark replied: “It’s non-stick so no scrubbing, just soak it in hot soapy water every time you use it and wipe it dry.”
