When the government starts to fill the budget gap, it certainly shouldn’t do so with a general tax increase or a reduction in defense spending. This is how Poles respond in the latest United Surveys poll for RMF FM and “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.
We ask about this because Donald Tusk’s cabinet has prepared a draft budget for next year assuming a record deficit. PLN 289 billion.

People aged 18 to 29 are more in favour of increasing the deficit (30 percent. of them supported this solution). However, most of the representatives of this group (57%) do not know what the State budget deficit is.
The older Poles are, the more they want to reduce the deficit.
The survey shows that up to 59.2% would support the Poles introduction of sectoral taxes – those that would target specific industries rather than all industries. Just as banks or large retail chains were already subject to additional taxes, now digital giants may be taxed additionally, for example.
Other ideas for fixing the deficit are much less popular.
25.6 percent of us would support limiting early retirement for miners and police officers.
A similar number of Poles – 24.4 percent – would support cutting more than 800, 13th and 14th pensions.
Only 15.1 percent would be ready to agree tax increase for entrepreneurs and 14.1 percent for those who earn more.
6.1 percent of us would agree Higher VATand only two tenths of a percent for Higher property tax.
5% would support reducing military spending. respondents.
The United Surveys survey for RMF FM and “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” was conducted from August 30 to September 1 among a representative group of 1,000 people. The study was conducted by the CAWI/CATI method.
