If you struggle with bloating, this hack might just be a game changer.
Bloating is very common, which can make your stomach feel full and uncomfortable. It can be caused by too much gas in the stomach from food and drink, such as some vegetables and fizzy drinks, but you can also feel bloated if you have constipation or food intolerances.
When you’re feeling bloated, it can feel like the only thing you can do is curl up in a ball in bed or on the couch and wait for the feeling to subside, but there are things you can do to ease the awful feeling.
The NHS recommends exercising regularly to improve digestion, drinking plenty of water, eating high-fibre foods if you are constipated and eating smaller meals more often to avoid overeating.
They also suggest trying an abdominal massage to release wind blockages – and that’s exactly the tip one woman on TikTok has been spreading by sharing.
The woman, named Claudia, claimed she got rid of her swelling in as little as “five minutes” by performing simple massage exercises – and people in the comments have hailed her method as a “game changer”.
At the beginning of her video, she explained, “I just got back from a friend’s 30th birthday trip and I didn’t practice what I preach and my body hates me. I look like I’m pregnant. I was drinking alcohol every day, eating only beige food, and not really sleeping.
“I’m going to show you my five-minute debloat routine to get things going, which makes my stomach feel a lot better.”
Claudia began her routine by putting cream on her hands and “patting” between her hip bones to “open up the lymph nodes.”
Then she made a “rainbow” motion across her abdomen from right to left, starting at her right hip, going up and over her navel and back down to her left hip.
Next, he slid the sides of his hands down the entire front of his stomach, before finally using a “sliding downward motion” on his sides that ran from his ribcage to his pelvis between his lymph nodes.
She made it clear that she does each of these steps 10-15 times before moving on to the next step, and at the end of her video she declared, “I already feel so much better.”
One of the commenters said that although Claudia’s tips work, it is very important that you follow her advice and do the rainbow movement from right to left, as doing it the other way around can cause more discomfort and possibly even a “blockage”.
And many commenters were just thrilled to finally find a way to relieve their bloating problems.
Someone said: “My sister has bloat issues and I showed her this just to try and she immediately bloated and felt so much better.”
Another wrote: “I started doing this after every meal and it calms my stomach so much.”
