Prevent a humanitarian disaster
Already in the early days of the war, Metinvest and DTEK, in cooperation with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, created the Saving Lives humanitarian project, which aims to protect Ukrainians from a possible food crisis. Since then, more than 3,000 tons of first aid kits from Europe have been delivered to Ukrainian distribution centers. Thousands of children, elderly people and women have received them. Another 20,000 kits went to the families of mobilized personnel and large families. The cargo is also used to create strategic reserves in the cities where the companies operate.
The Saving Lives project has quickly gained the trust of the international community. It is currently supported by approximately 90 donors and partners from Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, the USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, Greece, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
The Zróbmy To Razem Foundation, within the framework of the Saving Lives humanitarian project, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Agritrade Ukraine, acting as the Coordination Centre of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This is the first strategic agreement within the framework of the Saving Lives humanitarian project between Germany and Ukraine.
Help for company employees
Metinvest has developed an adaptation program for employees of companies evacuated from troubled areas in Ukraine, in particular from Mariupol and Avdeevka. There is also a special hotline where you can get more information. Rehabilitation and reintegration centers operate in several cities and more than 1,000 people have already contacted them. In the centers, employees and their families can receive medical and psychological assistance.
There is also a Metinvest Career Center, where specialists provide advice on finding a job at the company’s companies in Zaporozhye, Kamenskva, Kryvyi Rih and Pokrovsk or offer retraining for another specialization. In this way, about 500 displaced people have already been employed and immediately received UAH 10,000 “lifting allowance”. In total, Metinvest companies have prepared more than 4,000 vacancies.
