“During the last election campaigns – parliamentary, local government, European – I talked to hundreds of PiS supporters and activists from municipalities and poviats. There was a certain issue that arose in these discussions, an issue that, unfortunately, received too little attention,” former Prime Minister Beata Szydło wrote on the X website.
When PiS was in power, it implemented many projects that were useful for the people. But our supporters, especially PiS members at the local level, were subjected to pressure and hatred, which, I have the impression, was not fully implemented.
– she realized.
It was known that the opposition at the time freely spread hatred and attacked ordinary people just because they supported PiS. But high-ranking politicians are somewhat used to being the object of hatred. It is part of their job. Our local supporters and activists reacted much worse to this – when they could not even write anything on Facebook without being immediately insulted and insulted. Many people were fed up with this.
– Szydło emphasized.
Objective – intimidation
The PiS MEP highlights that the action was planned.
Yes, it was a highly organized action with precisely this aim – intimidation. However, this action was also successful because it was never properly challenged. This had very negative consequences for the morale and mobilization of right-wing supporters.
– highlighted Beata Szydło.
The former Prime Minister referred to the vulgar chants during the Poland Campus of the Future.
Vulgar chants during Campus Polska caused outrage – and rightly so. But Campus’ political patrons were not at all outraged. They even made it known that they supported such behavior. Why? Because that is exactly what they mean when they organize events like Campus. They want to create hunwejbins and have been doing so for years. This is their consistent strategy.
– she wrote.
The answer to this cannot be temporary riots and protests. The United Right needs its own strategy to combat the hatred directed at it and to defend the dignity of our supporters and activists. A person who is trying to build PiS structures somewhere in Poland, or simply wants to join a local Facebook group with a right-wing message, must be sure that we will all support him and defend him against hatred.
– she realized.
Without taking care to rebuild the sense of dignity (and often even personal security) among PiS supporters, without developing awareness of their own strength, it will not be possible to regain power and save Poland.
– she added.
