Last month, Honor rolled out a software update for the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro in India with a call recording feature. Now, the brand has released the MR2 update for both the smartphones with new AI features.

The first is AI Eraser, powered by Google Cloud’s generative AI, and the second is Face-to-Face Translation, which enables real-time translation across multiple languages.

Additionally, the MR2 update raises the Android security patch level on the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro until September 2024. For more details, check the changelog below.

  • Security update

    • Integrated with Google’s September 2024 security patch.

  • AI Eraser

    • Powered by Google Cloud’s advanced generative AI, this feature allows users to easily remove unwanted objects, text, and background elements from photos. It then fills the gaps with realistic content, ensuring high-quality photos.

  • Direct translation

    • Provides real-time translation for multiple languages, supporting both voice and text input. This feature is ideal for travelers and language learners, enabling translation broadcasts for seamless communication.

  • USB Data Security

    • Enhances security by requiring user authentication when switching USB modes from “Charge Only” to data transfer modes.

  • Split Screen App Combinations

    • Allows users to save split screen app combinations as home screen icons for quick access.

Honor said the update will reach all users by September 13, and if it doesn’t, users can check for it manually by going to their phones. Settings > System and updates > Software update menu and clicking “Check for Updates”.
