Days off from work in 2024 – numbers
In Poland, we celebrate permanent and movable public holidays. The former always fall on the same day of the year, such as New Year’s Day, Epiphany or the Third National Day of May. In turn, movable holidays include, for example, Easter or Corpus Christi, whose annual date is determined by the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. Days off from work are specified in the Act of January 18, 1951 as days off from work and according to art. 1 of this act, there are thirteen of them. There are also 52 Sundays, so in 2024 there will be 65 Sundays and holidays, which are legal days off from work.

While many of this year’s days off from work are behind us, the August long weekend won’t be the last this year. The November holidays are also favorable in this regard, both on November 1st and 11th. All Saints’ Day falls on Friday and National Independence Day falls on Monday.
Long weekends in 2024 – up to nine days off
In 2024, ten out of thirteen holidays will fall in the middle of the week. This means that a well-planned holiday combined with bank holidays will allow you to have a long weekend of up to nine days! This situation already occurred in May. It will be repeated during Christmas. Three days of leave are enough for your rest to last up to nine days.
