Due to an accident involving a truck, Autobahn 7 in Lower Franconia was closed for almost twelve hours. The tractor-trailer driver braked suddenly due to a traffic jam at a construction site in Arnstein (Main-Spessart district), police said. On Thursday he hit a concrete shear wall and eventually went through the center guard wall.

The highway was then closed in both directions and only reopened after twelve hours on Friday morning. A crane re-erected the concrete protective wall in the center, which had collapsed for several hundred meters. The truck driver was not injured.
