Collections for flood victims at Lidl stores
Lidl Polska has launched collections of items for residents of flood-affected areas. All store chains in the country, i.e. more than 900 outlets, are taking part in the campaign. The main items to be collected are long-life food and drinking water. As announced by the chain’s representatives on Tuesday, September 17, special baskets will be set aside in stores where people can donate products to flood victims.
Trucks with help from Lidl
Yesterday we reported that the network was one of the first to send trucks to help flood victims. Support of Lidl reached the inhabitants of Jelenia Góra, Głuchołazy and the commune of Kłodzko. The submitted items included: water, bread, preserves, kabanos sausages, groats, rice, pasta and children’s sweets.
– As part of our rapid response to the critical flood situation, we have already organized aid for residents of Jelenia Góra, Głuchołazy and the municipality of Kłodzko, as well as firefighters in Prudnik and Legnica, over the weekend. Now, as part of the next stage of our activities, we are encouraging customers to join the collection of products for those affected in each of our more than 900 stores. – said Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz, Director of Corporate Affairs and CSR at Lidl Polska, in today’s announcement.
Common aid instead of price war?
Lidl Polska announces that it continuously monitors the flood situation and is in constant contact with representatives of local government authorities. Consumers like the network’s attitude.
“Biedronka also helps, it’s good to see you fighting for low prices, and it’s even better when you both help in such a difficult situation. Bravo to you.” – wrote one of the internet users in a post on the Facebook profile Lidl.
