Poland is one of the countries most frequently attacked by hackers (especially Russians). Check Point estimates that Polish companies and institutions are attacked an average of 1,430 times per week. That’s more than 40 percent more often than, for example, German ones. Not only the number but also the scale of the attacks are growing. A year ago, hackers attacked the Alab laboratory network. The company decided not to pay the ransom. As a result, two serious data leaks occurred – in the first, hackers shared files containing data on more than 50,000 patients.
Now the famous clothing chain Ochnik has become a victim of hackers. It is reported that there was an attack on the infrastructure of its technological partners. As a result, unauthorized persons gained access to one of the technical accounts.
Should Ochnik customers be afraid?
By exploiting a security hole in the software used, the attackers gained access to files containing customer data. Data such as first and last names, shipping addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers were leaked. However, the network stressed that the attackers did not gain access to passwords, transaction history, or other access data.
Ochnik stated that as soon as the incident was detected, his partners implemented preventive measures, blocking access to the system and eliminating the source of the problem.
