“It is worth noting that the current mayor has eliminated 134 bus lines. There is no humane treatment. They promised air-conditioned buses, the buses are dirty. One of the most expensive fares is in the capital. We want quality public transport. Let’s restore the lines, partnering with the BRT, which is the most expensive in Brazil […] Because there is no line that integrates the system, there are no passengers. The station is a ghost,” Geraldo continued.
“We will integrate this city with VLT, with the subway, which the state government has the courage to do. Entrepreneurs, let’s talk. Entrepreneurs will not control public transportation. We have to integrate with public transportation. modes, with private transportation. […] “There are currently more than 67,000 app drivers in Salvador. Salvador is currently the capital of unemployment,” said emedebista.
Asked how to reactivate the lane without adding to rush hour congestion, Geraldo said he was still evaluating how the process would work.
“We must mature this process. We need to align and listen to civil society, communities, we need to listen to society, the business world,” said Geraldo.
Last week, Bruno Reis won a court appearance to respond to allegations that he had removed bus lanes.
