Russia’s war with Ukraine. Day 929
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On the night of September 8–9, Kiev was targeted by a Russian kamikaze drone strike.
A month ago, on August 6, Ukrainian troops attacked the Kursk region and penetrated to a depth of about 30 kilometers. The Ukrainians captured several dozen cities, the largest of which is Suja, a district town with a population of five thousand. There is a measuring station in the city, on the gas pipeline to the west.
The Ukrainians attacked areas that were poorly supported by Russian troops, which immediately led to chaos in the Russian command, which did not know how to defend the Kursk Oblast. It was only at the end of August that strong troops began to appear there, coming from the front in the Zaporozhian steppes and even from the Koenigsberg region. Currently, there are 30,000 to 60,000 people in the fighting area in the Kursk region. Russian soldiers against 7,000 to 12,000 Ukrainians. The Kremlin believes that the recapture of the area will be completed by the end of the year.
– The offensive is important primarily for the Ukrainians themselves. Because their morale has been declining for a long time, General Roman Polko said in an interview with wprost.pl. – The money did not come from the United States, then it came, but we do not know why. The West was increasingly tired of this conflict, although in fact only Ukrainians have the right to be tired. And Ukraine’s latest offensive on Russia has raised the morale of Ukrainian soldiers and citizens, who will be more willing to go into service with confidence. It has given the West faith that Ukraine is capable of doing something, the former commander of the GROM unit said.
