A 49-year-old man from Geilenkirchen was driving a motorcycle along the L410 in the direction of the B56 at approximately 5.45pm on Saturday 7 September. He had come from the L47 direction and entered the roundabout there to continue his journey towards the Netherlands via the L410.
At the B56 exit roundabout, a delivery truck driver entered the roundabout but did not stop, according to the motorcyclist. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the man braked so hard that his motorcycle flipped to the left and skidded across the road.
The delivery truck driver continued on his way, completely unconcerned with the injured man. The motorcyclist, who had fallen, could see that the van was dark blue. Police are looking for witnesses who saw the vehicle traveling towards the Netherlands on the L410 just before or after the accident.
