After more than four decades of partnership, Galvão Bueno and Globo are expected to end their relationship in December this year.
According to the F5 portal, the parties decided not to renew the agreement. As a result, the narrator has only a few future commitments for the broadcaster until the end of the year.
In 2022, Galvão Bueno narrated his last match for the company, the World Cup final between Argentina and France. In the following years, the announcer continued to appear on the channel with occasional appearances, such as at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics and in the recording of the documentary “Olha o Que Ele Fez”.
In addition to these appearances, the narrator will star alongside presenter Karine Alves, in a reality show looking for a new narrator for Globo.
After leaving the narrative in the broadcaster, Galvão began working on YouTube. Despite having started the project with broadcasts of Brazilian National Team matches, interviews and Stock Car broadcasts, the broadcaster will change the name of the channel, currently “Canal GB”, and will invest even more in this initiative.
The journalist began his career at Globo in 1981. After that, he established himself as one of the main broadcasters in the country, mainly broadcasting matches of the Brazilian national team and Formula 1 races. Galvão worked at eight World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022) and seven Olympic Games (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2021).
