As the defendant was led into the courtroom in handcuffs, one was reminded of the TV series “Breaking Bad.” With his cropped hair and glasses, the 56-year-old’s appearance reminded one of the protagonist of the series about a teacher with lung disease who becomes a drug lord (see information box).
