During the meeting of the team responsible for the flood crisis in Wrocław, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided information on the railway and road infrastructure.
Rail traffic suspended on local rail lines
Klimczak reported that train traffic suspended is on five sections of local lines – namely stations Prudnik – Nowy Świętów, Głuchołazy and Kłodzko Główny, Otmuchów – Paczków and Paczków – Kamieniec Ząbkowicki.
Difficulties at border crossings with the Czech Republic
The minister also reported on impassable crossings border with the Czech Republic – these include the Chałupki-Bohumin, Zebrzydowice-Petrovice and Cieszyn crossings.
On the Opole-Brzeg route, due to the wave of floods, there are difficulties in accessing electricity to the traction network – Klimczak also reported.
The minister reported that trains are running, but at longer intervals, which causes delays of around 60 minutes. He added that so far it has been possible to unblock 21 sections of railway lines that were previously blocked. He noted that the full list is available on the website PKP PLK.
Additional announcements about changes in transport are made at stations and stops – as of the 18th, 80 trains were canceled and 65 ran on shortened routes. Due to the weather, seven events were recorded today, which resulted in the delay of 74 trains. – said Klimczak. As he said, the guarantee is provided whenever possible substitute communication.
State of national roads and personnel problems
Minister of Infrastructure reported that all highways and expressways are passable, and the province in Silesia, all difficulties are over. National road No. 12 from the city Szprotawa in the Lubuskie province is blocked, difficulties on the national road No. 78 Chałupki-Olza, on the same road and on the national road No. 33 Kłodzko – state border.
The minister also reported that they are increasingly larger personnel problems; he noted that both railway and road workers are also residents of the flood-affected areas.
