Due to the flood situation in the south of the Opole Voivodeship, a decision was made to evacuate some residents of the village of Morów and several hundred residents of Głuchołazy. Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak is on site.
In the south of the Opole Voivodeship, the situation is deteriorating due to constant rains. As the duty officer at the State Fire Service Headquarters in Opole told PAP, after leaving the Mory River bed, residents of six estates in the village of Morów were evacuated. In Głuchołazy, where the level of the Biała Głuchołaska River exceeded the alarm level by one meter, 400 residents of the city are being evacuated.
In the last few hours, Opole firefighters have received around 500 calls for various types of interventions related to the flood situation – mainly in the south of the region. Residents of the village of Zawiszyce in the municipality of Głubczyce report the overflowing of the Stradunia River, whose water is flooding the courtyards of properties in the city.
Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak took over as manager of the district headquarters of the State Fire Service in Nysa and familiarized himself with the flood situation. According to the IMWM announcement, a rain zone is slowly moving over the southern and central parts of the Opole Voivodeship, with precipitation ranging from 10 to 15 liters of rain per hour.
Alarm levels exceeded on rivers in Lower Silesia
At midnight from Friday to Saturday, the alarm levels were exceeded in the rivers of Lower Silesia in 23 places. The highest – 102 cm – in Krosnowice, on the Nysa Kłodzka, but in the same river, in the vicinity of Kłodzko, the exceedance is only 65 cm.
According to the constantly updated information from the IMWM, the water levels in the rivers of Lower Silesia are rising. Around midnight on Friday into Saturday, the alarm levels were exceeded in 23 locations on several rivers in the region, including the largest ones in the Kłodzko Valley, in the Karkonosze Mountains, at the foot of Kaczawa and in Ślęza, which flows into the Oder in Wrocław.
The largest exceedance of 102 cm in Krosnowice was recorded in Nysa Kłodzka, but in the same river, near Kłodzko, the exceedance is only 65 cm. Other exceedances range from a few to 30-40 cm.
The alarm level was exceeded in Nysa Kłodzkie, Biała Lądecka, Bystrzyca Dusznicka in Szalejów Dolny (by 62 cm). In the Karkonosze Mountains, the Bóbr, Kamienna and Kwisa rivers crossed the alert level, and in the foothills of Kaczawa the Kaczawa River in Świerzawa (75 cm). The Ślęza River in Białobrzezie is over 70 cm, but in neighboring Borów it is 27 cm.
The duty officer at the provincial command post of the State Fire Service in Wrocław told PAP that although almost 500 interventions were recorded throughout Friday, he stressed that the vast majority of them were ad hoc and protective measures. They went out to unblock drains, pack bags and sacks – occasionally to pump out water due to flooding.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management predicts rainfall of up to 150 litres per square metre in the Lower Silesian, Opole, Silesian and Lesser Poland Voivodeships from Thursday to Sunday, which may cause flash floods. In these voivodeships, a warning is issued against heavy rainfall of the highest degree – third degree. The heaviest rainfall is expected in the Kłodzko Valley.
