Flamengo’s current board of directors is interested in the participation of Google’s CEO in Brazil, Fábio Coelho, in the club’s elections. The businessman is part of Luiz Eduardo Baptista’s party, BAP, and will be vice president of technologyif selected.

Coelho stated that he could increase the club’s revenue from R$1.5 billion to R$5 billion with the help of technology. However, as CEO of Google, he did not approach Flamengo to negotiate.

Recently, Google through YouTube made an offer to Liga Forte União, the group that sells broadcasting rights, to broadcast the matches of Flamengo’s main rivals: Vasco, Fluminense and Botafogo.

And the main question that is likely to be raised is whether he will only do business with Flamengo if his ticket wins.

BAP was Rodrigo Dunshee’s main opponent, chosen by Rodolfo Landim to replace him. He had important support, such as the club’s main idol, Zico, and the lawyer Flávio Willeman, who would become his vice-general, and was responsible for updating Flamengo’s accounts during Bandeira de Mello’s management.
