A thermal and power plant burned down in Rzeszów. The fire has been brought under control and the incident will not affect the supply of electricity and heat. For now, the exact cause of the fire is unknown, but it will be determined by a special commission.
Six firefighters extinguished a fire in the area of the Rzeszów EC Rzeszów cooling tower, which was being renovated by an external company. Spokesman for the Podkarpacie fire brigade, Brig. Marcin Betleja assured that the fire was under control and no one was injured. According to the spokesman, the firefighters received a report of a fire on Ciepłownicza Street in Rzeszów, formerly 13.
A cooling tower building with an unused fan was found to be on fire. The fire spread to the facade of the building, which measures approximately 25 by 20 meters and 12 meters high.
– commented Captain Jan Czerwonka, press officer of the Municipal Commander of the State Fire Department in Rzeszów.
He assured that the fire was already under control.
There is no threat to other buildings
– he added.
He noted that no one was injured and no one was hurt. Six fire brigades participated in the extinguishing operation.
There were no major consequences of the event
Konrad Mróz, from the PGE Group press office, announced in a statement sent to the media that the fire occurred in the area of the Rzeszów EC Rzeszów plant, which was being renovated by an external company.
The event does not affect the production and supply of heat and electricity. The refrigerator was out of service during the renovation.

He added that the causes of the fire would be determined by a specially appointed commission.
