During a nighttime fire in one of the tenement houses in the center of Poznań, a strong explosion occurred. About 11 firefighters were injured and required hospitalization. Two are still being sought. Three other people were also injured – a tenement resident and two passers-by.

A fire broke out in one of the tenement houses on Kraszewskiego Street in Poznań at night. According to reports, firefighters were searching the basement for the source of the fire when the explosion occurred. The fire spread quickly. Emergency services are currently on the scene. Residents of the tenement house where the fire occurred and of neighboring buildings have been evacuated.
At a press conference, a firefighter representative said that the first units of the State Fire Department arrived at the scene five minutes after receiving the notification. – During the reconnaissance, an unexpected explosion occurred here. It was probably – as we heard from the rescue teams – two explosions, he said.

– There was a misfortune. We have eleven injured firefighters. We are still looking for two more firefighters, we do not know their fate, of course we are very worried about them – he noted. He added that, in addition to the firefighters, three other people were also injured, including a resident of the slum and two people who were probably injured by shrapnel from the explosion.
