A clip from the documentary series “Pra Semper Paquitas” available on GloboPlay recently went viral on social media. The scene shows a child who appears angry because he cannot join the program ‘Xou da Xuxa’, which was hosted by the queen of shorts between 1986 and 1992.
The viral video is from a special episode celebrating the program’s two-year anniversary. A group of children are standing outside the studio, and TV Globo sends a reporter to cover the commotion. “I got here at three in the morning, this can’t happen. They let the boy in and the children stay. What is this Xou da Xuxa? What is this Xou da Xuxa?” the girl protests, backed by other children.
Although Globo did not identify the girl, Patrícia Veloso Martins declared herself the protagonist of the meme that went viral. She, now 47, confirmed on TikTok that she was the girl in the famous recording. She explained that she had always been a fan of Xuxa and dreamed of participating in the program and getting a hug from the presenter.
Patrícia also revealed that she was 9 years old when the video was made and that she has always been a controversial figure, even unintentionally. In another post, she showed a childhood photo and wore the same clothes and ribbon in her hair as the girl in the viral video. This certainty was confirmed by her sister, Renata Amorim, who was also present on the day of the recording.
