Only a small excerpt from Ferrari’s Q2 2024 statement was dedicated to this topic: “First deliveries of the SF90 XX Stradale have begun, while deliveries of the Roma and 812 Competizione have slowed down. Both models are reaching the end of their production cycles, while the SF90 Stradale and 812 GTS models have already been discontinued.” These two sentences are the Italian sports car manufacturer’s farewell to four models. Ferrari’s model range is not particularly large and the loss of the quartet will leave a correspondingly large gap in the portfolio.
Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale remains in production for a little longer
What is surprising is not only the large number of models being withdrawn, but also the fact that models are now being withdrawn after only a few years of production. For example SF90 Stradale, the first true plug-in hybrid, appeared on the market just four years ago, in 2020. The sports car manufacturer’s model cycles are certainly shorter than those of regular automakers, but four years is extremely short, even by Ferrari standards. The only consolation for Ferrari fans is the fact that the open-top Spider version will remain on offer for some time, as will the SF90 XX version. The successor to the SF90 with development code F173 M is still in the testing phase and will appear in the second half of next year. A similar situation is the case with the Ferrari Roma, which arrived in dealerships in the coupé version in the summer of 2020. However, its career is coming to an end. Likewise, the convertible will be produced for a longer time. The successor to the base Ferrari may be called “Amalfi” and “Amalfi Spider”.
Ferrari is building its first electric car
Ferrari is expanding its factory. All this to start producing electric models. Who knows, this could be the biggest challenge in the company’s history for this Italian sports car manufacturer.
