Family says goodbye to worker killed after being hit by compactor roller in Pomerode

The body of a worker who died after being hit by an asphalt roller in Pomerode was buried in Mafra. The funeral of Alvacir Pires, 55, will take place this Tuesday afternoon (24). He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.

Alvacir worked at Engeplan, a company hired by the city of Pomerode to do asphalt paving in the downtown area. According to witnesses, on Monday (23) afternoon, the man mark the location when he finally gets hit by a machine driven by another server.

He was rushed to the hospital, but died on arrival at the health unit. Known as “Neguinho”, Alvacir was buried in the Mafra Municipal Chapel for burial at 4 p.m. in the city cemetery.
