Powerful explosions were heard in the Carpathian region

Before the explosions, Shahed was reported to be heading towards the city. Local authorities are warning of air defence operations.

Powerful explosions were heard in the Carpathian region during an airstrike on Friday night, September 20, according to social media and confirmed by local authorities.

Shortly before the explosions were reported, surveillance channels reported that a Russian UAV was moving in the direction of Ivano-Frankivsk.

In turn, the mayor of the city, Ruslan Martsinkiv, announced the air defence works.

“Attention! Air defense is working! Details to follow,” Martsinkov wrote, urging residents not to post photos and videos online.

Meanwhile, an air alert has been issued across most of Ukraine due to the movement of enemy UAVs and the threat of missiles.

Recall that in June, Russian aggressors launched a missile attack on the National Technical University of Oil and Gas in Ivano-Frankivsk.
