A French police officer was injured in an explosion outside a synagogue in La Grande-Motte, in the south of the country. Two cars parked in front of the building exploded there.

The explosion occurred at 8:30 am. Two cars parked in front of the synagogue exploded and immediately caught fire – reports “Le Monde”.

The police officer who was the first to arrive at the scene was injured.

Mayor Stephan Rossignol told AFP that City surveillance cameras recorded the moment when cars were set on fire by an unknown perpetrator.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmani wrote on Platform X about a “criminal act”.

“I would like to assure our fellow Jewish citizens and the community of my support, and also to say that At the request of President Emmanuel Macron, all means have been mobilized to find the perpetrator of the crime“- said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
