There was even one man who stood out from VfB Stuttgart’s brilliant side: Enzo Millot. “The boy is blessed with extraordinary qualities,” said coach Sebastian Hoeneß of the French Olympian. Millot contributed a goal and two assists in the Swabians’ 5-1 (2-0) win over Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga win was the perfect end to “a week with many emotional moments” for VfB, as sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth put it. And according to Hoeneß, Millot deserves special praise.

The only thing missing from the celebrations in Madrid was the coronation.

The attacking midfielder played “very well,” the coach said. He did “big things.” Millot has had a good season overall so far, but his performance against BVB on Sunday was “on another level.”

Five days after the unfortunate 3-1 Champions League comeback defeat at Real Madrid, VfB rewarded him for his brave performance this time. Unlike against the reigning Spanish champions, he took his chances against Dortmund – and at times made himself go crazy. His team performed “extraordinarily,” said Coach Hoeneß. He “can only take his hat off” to him. Apart from double scorer Deniz Undav, this was especially true for 22-year-old Millot.
