The 49-year-old admitted to the murder, but said he did not remember the moment of the attack. For several hours the man gave explanations.

The crime took place late Sunday afternoon near Spacerowa ul. in Oliwa. There, the couple (although they had recently separated) had arranged to meet. According to the investigation, the man attacked the woman in the car with a knife, and when she tried to run away, he attacked her outside the car. Witnesses informed the police.
After the murder, Emil R. escaped into the forest and hid all night in Tricity Landscape Park near Oliwa Zoo. Police arrested him on Monday at 5:30 am after witnesses reported seeing him at the bus stop.
The injured party defended himself
On Monday, an autopsy was performed on the body of 45-year-old Małgorzata R.
The cause of the woman’s death was exsanguination. During the examination, several cuts and stab wounds were revealed, including on the neck and torso. Wounds on the forearms and arms indicate that the victim was defending herself.

According to investigators, the man left his home in Chwaszczyno 2-3 weeks before the tragic incident in Oliwa. The couple had been married for about 20 years. They had two children.
He faces life in prison for murder.
