The decision “had nothing to do with making money,” he stressed on his Instagram story just before the first issue was released. “There can never be as many new subscriptions as RTL gets from a single ad on linear TV,” he added. He then went on to say, “This is just an experiment and we can do a little bit more on RTL+.” He then offered the prospect that the final word on the matter may not yet be out. “And if it works, then yes, then it will probably end up on linear TV at some point.” But RTL said, “Unfortunately, there are no slots available at the moment.” So the show will start on RTL+ for now.
“You won’t win a million with Stefan Raab here” turned out to be a mix of “TV total” and “Schlag den Raab” in the premiere. At first, there was a comedy introduction for about 30 minutes, in which Raab, as usual, took aim at his boxing opponent Regina Halmich (47) and other celebrities. Then the game part began, in which the candidates had the chance to win a million euros. To do so, they had to compete with Raab in quizzes and competitions. The show airs every Wednesday at 8.10 p.m. on RTL+.
