The chat began with a delay of more than 40 minutes, around 8:42 pm local time (2:42 am in Poland), due to technical problems – many users were unable to start the live broadcast on the X platform, which Musk is responsible for. He attributed the problems to a DDoS attack that was supposed to paralyze the platform’s servers, but did not provide evidence that such an attack actually occurred.
Ultimately, according to Reuters, more than 1.3 million users listened to the 45-minute live interview.
The technical issues that accompanied Musk’s conversation with Trump were reminiscent of a similar situation when the owner of Platform X interviewed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in May 2023. DeSantis was then announcing his candidacy for the presidential primaries, but Twitter (now X) crashed several times during the event.
