Bayern Munich have to worry about star striker Harry Kane ahead of their Champions League trip to England. The 31-year-old injured his left ankle in the Bundesliga derby match against Bayer Leverkusen and was substituted shortly before the end. “If Harry leaves the field, that’s something. “It doesn’t look good,” Munich sporting director Max Eberl said on watching Kane’s painful scene on pay-TV Sky, but admitted he had no further information yet. “Now I hope it’s made Of strong English wood.”
The defending German champions will play their second Champions League preliminary round match against Aston Villa on Wednesday (9pm/DAZN). Kane scored four goals in the famous 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the first round.
It’s all easy – Kompany hopes to play on Wednesday
“I hope that’s not the case,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany told Sky when asked if there was something wrong with Kane. “He’s gone to the doctor, and it’s very early now. Hopefully that will be enough for Wednesday.”
The first reaction from Bayern’s dressing room that evening was a bit obvious. “It’s not a bad thing,” says Sky presenter Sebastian Hellmann. The broadcaster learned about this from Bayern officials.
