A 67-year-old man was caught red-handed on Thursday night, the 19th, after being involved in a vehicle collision and being caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident was recorded on BR-101, part of the municipality of Alagoinhas.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), at around 9 p.m., a team from the corporation was called to respond to an accident at KM-103 on the highway. At the scene, the PRF determined that it was a collision between a pickup truck and a truck. There were no reports of injuries.

Those involved in the accident underwent a “breathalyzer” test. In the elderly truck driver, the device showed an alcohol concentration of 0.86 mg/l. The result (higher than 0.34mg/l) constitutes a traffic crime, according to the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB).

The perpetrator, who lives in the rural area of ​​Alagoinhas, was arrested for drunk driving and handed over to the Civil Police, for arrest and other applicable procedures.
