But the renowned virologist, Christian Drosten, has now given a clear statement and only considers the coronavirus as dangerous as the flu, reports the “Augsburger Allgemeine”. The reason is that a large portion of the population has been vaccinated and people have been infected several times.
The successful vaccination was surprising
At the start of the pandemic, Drosten told the newspaper that he did not expect an effective vaccine to be available within a year. This development has saved many people. Looking at previous assessments, Drosten noted: “There were voices initially comparing Covid to the common flu.”
Gassen called for such measures to be considered
In an interview with “Bild”, KBV boss Andreas Gassen called for a scientific, legal and political review of the pandemic measures. He stressed: Some actions actually cause more harm than good; Strange outdoor regulations also contribute to skepticism.
