Passed.- Border Patrol agents arrested a person wanted for murder inside a safe house in El Paso on Tuesday. That day, Border Patrol discovered 77 migrants being smuggled in two different safe houses in El Paso, authorities said.
Officers were serving a warrant at a home on Overland Avenue when they found “72 people living in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions.” This includes migrants in storage warehouses with limited ventilation and large piles of rubbish. Two of the migrants were responsible for the safe house and will face human trafficking charges, authorities said.
“During the investigation, agents discovered a second property on Val Verde Road with five additional migrants,” a Border Patrol spokesperson explained. “The 77 migrants come from Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, and are in good condition. All migrants discovered are processed under Title 8 for deportation.”
The spokesperson added that a Dominican migrant was found in the International Criminal Police Organization database. He is listed as wanted for murder in the Dominican Republic.
