“More than 20 attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus into Poland were recorded by the Border Guard in the last 24 hours,” the Podlasie Branch of the Border Guard reported. Meanwhile, the German services published a report on the detention of illegal immigrants at the Polish-German border.
Attempts to illegally cross the border took place near Narewka, Białowieża, Płaska and Michałów. More migrants attempted to enter Poland illegally this morning in the Narewka area.
POSG data show that since the beginning of the year there have been more than 21,800 attempts to illegally cross the Belarusian-Polish border in Podlasie. Since the beginning of August, approximately 450 such attempts have been recorded. In July there were more than 1,300 attempts, and in June more than 3,700.
More migrants deported to Poland
In addition, at the Görlitz station in Germany, a police patrol detained three men. They did not have proper documents allowing them to stay in the country. However, they did have Afghan passports. According to the German police, they were taken to a police station, from where they will be sent back to Poland.
In Ostritz, right next to the border with Poland, the police detained eight people from Afghanistan and Iran. As the statement says, among them were six men from Iran who tried to cross the border without valid documents.
Two of them are minors who were transferred to social services and two adult men filed asylum applications. The remaining two men were deported to Poland.
This is not the first time that Germany has deported illegal migrants to Poland with impunity. On June 14, in Osinów Dolny (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), German police dropped off an Afghan family of five who had been refused entry to Germany. Another incident involving the return of a group of migrants from Germany to Poland was reported by the German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung. The newspaper reported that on Saturday, June 15, on the border bridge between Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice, police officers ordered a group of about a dozen women and men to quickly cross the bridge with their luggage to Poland. Will the deputy head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Czesław Mroczek, justify the Germans this time?
