In three Brazilian municipalities, only one party managed to elect candidates in 2024: the PT. The account includes both mayors, vice presidents and councilors. The places with hegemonic victories of the PT are small, poor, located in the Northeast Region and depend on the Family Bag.

They all have less than 15 thousand inhabitants. By determination constitutionalMunicipalities with a population less than this figure must have nine councilors, no more and no less.

The population of the three cities plus PT and Bolsa Família

None of these cities can be remembered for landscapes with paradisiacal beaches, so symbolic for the region. The reality of the places where only members of the PT were elected is the interior of the United States, far from the sea and the eyes of tourists.

The smallest place on the list is Brejo do Piauí in Piauí, which is home to 3,900 residents, and around 70% of them needed Bolsa Família to pay their bills in September. The second place is occupied by the same state, Anísio de Abreu, a municipality with 9.4 thousand inhabitants, of which 2.7 thousand belong to families that received aid in the same month.

The last on the list is Ipaporanga, in the interior of Ceará. 11,500 Brazilians live there, half of whom depend on Bolsa Família.
