Postal company DHL wants to halve its sales by the end of the decade. This comes from a new strategy that sets goals for the second half of the decade. In 2023, the company will have revenues of almost 82 billion euros, and by 2030 it should reach more than 120 billion euros. “We want to grow faster and more profitably,” says CEO Tobias Meyer. According to the company, the focus is on growth through its own efforts, but acquisitions are also possible.

One of the key growth drivers is online commerce, which is causing parcel volumes to skyrocket. Specialized frozen storage for the pharmaceutical market as well as the transport of wind turbines and other businesses should also play a role.

The DHL Group has about 600,000 employees worldwide, a third of them in Germany. The company was formerly known as Deutsche Post DHL, but changed its name last year. In the national mail business, which has shrunk in the Internet era, it still operates as Deutsche Post.
