– No, PSL will not support this solution. Our proposal is to maintain funding for two religious classes – said Deputy Education Minister Henrique Kypora from PSL during the morning conversation that RMF had with editor Robert Mazurek.
The Deputy Minister from the ministry headed by Barbara Nwaka was asked about her plan to limit religion classes to one class per week. A draft regulation proposing this and other changes was published yesterday. Meanwhile, PSL decided to prepare its own project.
Religion lessons in schools. Deputy Education Minister Henrique Kypora: PSL will not support such restrictions
As Kipora pointed out, according to the idea of the Polish People’s Party, one religion lesson per week would be “obligatory” – that is, the school would be obliged to organize it according to the regulations and on the basis of the number of willing students – and the launch of the second lesson per week would be subject to the decision of the local community and school authorities.
-One lesson will be conducted. However, if the school environment, parents, teachers, administration or even students decide that there is no need for the second term, the administration can organize other classes. However, the planned funding (will relate – editor’s note) to two religious categories – said the Deputy Minister, describing the assumptions of the draft personal status law regarding religious categories.
