“The agreement ending the war in Ukraine presupposes the creation of a demilitarized zone along the ‘current demarcation line’ and gives Russia a guarantee of Kiev’s neutrality,” JD Vance, the Republican candidate for vice president, said in an interview.
Vance he thus outlined the contours of a possible final agreement war in Ukraine during an interview with the right-wing podcast “Shawn Ryan Show,” hosted by a special forces veteran. Asked how Trump intends to fulfill his promise to end the conflict as president-elect, Vance responded:
What it looks like is that Trump sits down and says to the Russians, Ukrainians, Europeans: you have to find out what he’s like. peaceful solution. And it probably looks something like this: the current demarcation line between Russia and Ukraine is becoming demilitarized zone. It is heavily fortified to prevent the Russians from making another invasion. Ukraine maintains its sovereignty. Russia receives a guarantee of neutrality from Ukraine. It does not join NATO, it does not join some of these allied institutions.
Vance’s statement was the clearest outline yet plans to end the warpresented by representatives of Donald Trump’s campaign. Trump himself has consistently refused to provide details of his plan, claiming that doing so would ruin his chances.
Senator from Ohio added that Germany and other countries would have to finance Ukraine’s reconstruction. He also argued that Trump could end the war quickly because “in Russia they are afraid of him and in Europe they are worried because what he says is serious”.
Vance portrayed Trump as someone who can work with “thugs.”
Sometimes you have to deal with crazy and evil people. After all, in World War II we allied ourselves with Joseph Stalin. – he emphasized.
The politician later said there was “no doubt” that the war in Ukraine was largely a conflict over Ukrainian natural resources and gas. He also mocked those who see Russia as evil and Ukraine as the good side of the conflict.
Maybe the truth is that the Russians shouldn’t have invaded, but the Ukrainians have a lot of corruption problems too, right? It’s a little more complicated than that, and unfortunately, there’s no American leader who’s willing to understand what’s really going on there. – he said. He also suggested that the conflict continues because American arms companies and financial institutions are making money from it.
