Death toll from pager explosion in Lebanon rises to 12

At least twelve people were killed and around 2,800 injured in Lebanon when pagers exploded in several parts of the country on Tuesday afternoon (September 17), according to a report published by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

The Shiite movement Hezbollah in Lebanon has reported that some of its members, who were equipped with pagers, were injured. According to a source close to Hezbollah, quoted by Agence France-Presse as saying, “big number” The victims include members of the pro-Iran movement.

Pagers (Pagers English) are primitive communication devices. Very popular in the 1990s, before the advent of the mobile phone, they allowed you to receive and, in some cases, send short alert messages or texts.
