Now the Galaxy S24 trio is $220 cheaper, and that includes the different storage options that each model has. Let’s take a closer look.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra has the best camera of any Samsung model, as well as native S Pen support, which is part of some AI features, and the new versions of One UI are expected to enhance them.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ lacks the Ultra camera, but it finally has a QHD+ display and 12GB of RAM, which helps set it apart from the tiny S24. Both larger models also have UWB support, meaning they work better with smart trackers.
The little Samsung Galaxy S24 is the cheapest of the bunch, which means it still starts with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We’d go for 256GB, since Samsung will support these phones for seven years, and 128GB will be a bit of a squeeze in 2031.
After so many leaks, Google is finally releasing the Pixel 9 series, which means most of the 8 series will be discontinued. Except for the Google Pixel 8a, which won’t be replaced for a while. It has a 6.1-inch 120Hz FHD+ OLED display (GG3) and Tensor G3, and (like the more expensive Galaxy) will be supported for 7 years.
The Samsung Galaxy A35 will only get 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches — not as good as the Pixel, but significantly better than your typical mid-range model. This one has a larger 6.6-inch display, but it uses a slower Exynos 1380 chipset. It has the advantage of expandable storage. The 5,000mAh battery lasts longer than the Pixel 8a (12:26h vs. 11:25h with active use), and it only supports wired charging (25W). The 8a isn’t a speed demon, but it does offer both wired (18W) and wireless (7.5W) charging.
