Maíra from MST, a candidate for the Workers’ Party council, was the victim of a robbery in front of her house, in Tijuca, North Zone of Rio, this Sunday (22). The teacher was approached at the door of her house when she was returning from a campaign commitment. The crime was recorded by a security camera in the area.
Maíra and two of her colleagues were unloading campaign materials from their vehicle when they were approached by three men driving another car. One of the robbers got into the victim’s car and took the wheel, while the other tried to prevent people from escaping. Although one of the criminals caught one of the victims, he managed to escape by running into a building.
The robbers stole cars, campaign materials, mobile phones and tablets. The incident was recorded in the 18th DP (Praça da Bandeira). According to the Civil Police, an investigation is underway to determine who is responsible for the crime.
