Nearly 900 pigs packed close together in the back of a truck: An overloaded animal transporter was stopped during an inspection on Autobahn 3 in Siegburg on Tuesday. “The truck was loaded with 890 pigs, which is 233 too many,” said Silvia Berger, the official veterinarian for the Rhein-Sieg district. In addition, the pigs had no water, which is against the rules. The transporter will now face two fines.
