Bridges not only connect different river banks, but also people. An important task that the Heppingen Bridge has been fulfilling for a long time. It was built in 1897 as an arch bridge with four arches made of red brick – until it was swept away by the Ahr flood in 2021. Now a new connection has finally been created between the two places. After a construction period of about a year, traffic between Heppingen and Heimersheim will be able to run again in late autumn 2025. In a few weeks, the city also wants to start rebuilding the Landgrafenbrücke upstream.
