Clubs are afraid to sign Maciej Rybus. Why is a Pole unemployed in Russia?

After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Rybus remained in Russia. After this decision, he received a wave of criticism and the 35-year-old player was no longer called up to the Polish national team.

Rybus rejected several offers

Rybus explained his decision for the good of the family (his wife, with whom he has two children, is Russian). Staying in Russia was not good for Rybus in sporting terms. The former Legia Warszawa player failed for the first time at Spartak Moscow. After moving to Rubin, nothing changed. There was another descent.

Rybus barely played and was mostly recovering from injury. As a result, the club did not extend his contract and the Polish player was left without a job. The footballer has been looking for a new one since July, but so far without success. Apparently there were offers, but they were unsatisfactory.

Rybus has no intention of ending his career

According to the player’s agent, clubs are afraid to sign his client. Why? Roman Oreshchuk explains in Russian media that this is due to concerns about Rybus’s health. Clubs fear that the Pole will be relegated to L4 soon after signing the contract.

However, Oreszczuk assures that Rybus has nothing wrong with him and is in great shape. As he points out, the player he represents trains individually all the time. At the same time, the agent emphasizes that Rybus does not intend to end his career.
