A mother and two children died after a fire broke out in a children’s room in Bremen. Fire officials said the blaze broke out in an apartment building in the Eller Feld district late on Sunday.
Rescue workers arrived and immediately entered the fire apartment with breathing apparatus, and found a 35-year-old mother and two children, aged 3 and 6, dead in the children’s room.
Emergency crews immediately began resuscitation efforts. “Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful,” the fire department said. The 36-year-old father, who appeared to have tried to put out the fire himself, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
