Cher will perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She won’t be its only star

One of the most anticipated events in the fashion world every year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024, will take place on October 15 in New York. This is where the company’s headquarters are located. The show’s formula, since its debut in 1995, combines the presentation of the brand’s latest collection with unforgettable musical performances. The program is watched by millions of people in the 190 countries where the event is broadcast.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Angels and Stars

The most popular models, called Victoria’s Secret Angels, often appear on the catwalk. The wings of the famous designer were worn ten or more times by: Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Izabel Goulart, Heidi Klum, Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo. Polish model Monika Jagaciak appeared on the catwalk three times (in 2013–2015).

The models who presented their underwear included the most famous stars – Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Some of these shows went down in history for reasons other than artistic merit. There was a lot of talk, including that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had trouble concentrating on stage. He performed there in 2012. At that time, he was dating a Russian-born model, Anna V., who presented her famous lingerie at the show and successfully attracted the attention of her then partner. Another famous couple who appeared together on stage at the show was Heidi Klum and Seal, who are still married.

Her modeling career has allowed Claudia Schiffer to amass a fortune estimated today at US$120 million.

Cher is the star of the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The history of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show dates back to 1995, but it has not been organized on an ongoing basis. It was the brainchild of Ed Razek, for decades one of the highest-ranking executives at L Brands, Victoria’s Secret’s parent company. He, along with his deputy, was personally responsible for selecting the models for years. Furthermore, according to The New York Times, they were frequently complained about his inappropriate behavior. Before he was removed from his position, he caused a scandal that almost resulted in the liquidation of the brand and for several years, for image reasons, it was decided not to organize a show. This happened after Razek gave an interview to Vogue in which he said that plus-size models did not belong at Victoria’s Secret and that the public was “not interested” in seeing them. Then, viewers boycotted the show in 2018. In the “new era” of VS, there is room for diversity on the catwalk. An Asian model, a black model and a transgender model have been involved.
