Car drove into a group of people celebrating – minor injuries

A driver plowed into a group of people celebrating a church festival in Lower Franconia. There were minor injuries, police said. It was not immediately clear whether it was an accident or whether the 58-year-old driver deliberately drove into the group in Großwallstadt, he said.

Since the man had to be resuscitated, it was initially assumed that the cause of the accident was a health problem. However, after further investigation at the scene, it was possible that the driver had deliberately driven into the group. “An expert was called to clarify what happened,” police said.

The 58-year-old man was seen driving off the town’s main road in the early afternoon. In addition to firefighters, rescue services and crisis intervention teams were also at the scene treating minor injuries, including a ten-year-old child. Police are appealing for witnesses.
