Captain Oliver Baumann sees a good chance that the ongoing dispute between the fan scene and the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim club management has come to an end. “We are in discussions, we are with the fans and the club as well,” the 34-year-old goalkeeper said after the Bundesliga club’s 1-1 (0-1) draw with Danish champions FC Midtjylland.
Baumann hopes for a “finish line”
“I think it’s OK, it’s good,” Baumann added. It was “hopefully the last line”. The 400 fans who had accompanied them celebrated the Hoffenheim team in Herning after U17 world champion Max Moerstedt’s equaliser.
Several fan groups have been at odds with the club’s management for weeks and have boycotted the first league match, and have protested the club’s policy by putting up banners at the Sinsheim stadium.
The background is the actions of the TSG people in charge in the middle of the season preparations: They separated from almost the entire management and the old manager Alexander Rosen. Patron and billionaire Dietmar Hopp also came under fire.
