The government will introduce a reform of the income of local government units. Thanks to this, by 2025, local government revenues will increase by almost PLN 25 billion compared to the current regulations. Local government revenues from participation in personal income tax and corporate income tax will be largely independent of general tax changes. This will be possible thanks to a change in the tax base – local government revenues will be calculated as a percentage of the income of personal income tax and corporate income tax payers in the area of a given local government (currently, local government revenues from personal income tax and corporate income tax are calculated on the tax due to the local government). Within 10 years, local government revenues will increase by more than PLN 345 billion – we read on the website of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
